FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Generally speaking, the first one or two sessions are to gather information about you and the reasons you have reached out for help.  This information drives development of a treatment plan detailing your desired goals along with a plan to achieve them.  We then work together using education, strategies, and interactive practices to hopefully achieve those goals.  While we cannot predict the future and I cannot guarantee any level of results, many people find great value and improvement over time when they commit themselves to the process.  

Yes!  I am in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare. I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurance plans.  Insurance companies have strict guidelines (including required diagnosis in your medical record) and authority to review therapy records to determine medical necessity.  Your benefits will be verified before confirming appointments to ensure knowledge of your financial responsibility prior to being seen.  If you prefer for our work together to be separate from your insurance and medical records, you may choose to opt out of using your insurance benefits and pay the cash rate.  

If you have an insurance plan I do not accept, a Superbill can be provided monthly which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Each insurance sets their own criteria for reimbursement, but most often this requires a covered mental health diagnosis be given to validate treatment. Please call the number on the back of your insurance card for more information.

I have limited availability for sliding scale clients which are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If my sliding scale appointments are full, you can be placed on a waiting list or provided referrals for therapists which may have sliding scale considerations.  Contact me for more information.

Our therapy services are 100% virtual!  I have found the convenience and ease of access to be most beneficial for clients.  The telehealth platform (Simple Practice) is accessible using a web browser on computer or free app on mobile phone or tablet.
